Valais Panorama Bike (VPB) - stage 4

Due to works being carried out at Heiligkreuz, this route is impassable from Monday to Friday. It can nonetheless be undertaken on weekends and public holidays.

The last day of the adventure begins at the stone arch bridge in the village of Binn. A gentle slope takes you as far as Heiligkreuz, where the almost 14-kilometre, 1,100-metre climb begins: first on an alpine track to Brunegge, then on a singletrack to Tanzbede. The final stretch to the pass will call on all your reserves. The sub-alpine landscape is arid and the colours change from pastel green to ochre as you climb. At the top, a magnificent view of the Simplon Pass and the highest peaks in Valais awaits you. After a well-earned rest, start the 12-kilometre, 1,900-metre descent, much of it on singletrails. Via Rosswald, the descent into the Ganter valley is exciting. Above Schallberg, cross a forest road and change at Riederwald onto a bisse trail. From the bottom station at Ried-Brig, you’ll head for your final destination, the town of Brig and its imposing Stockalper Castle.
