Already 30 years ago, there was talk of a park landscape in Bellwald that would combine nature, the lake, recreation and leisure. But there were still a number of hurdles to be overcome before the project could be realised. The rezoning was settled with the canton. With the forestry district, the aim was to keep the impact on the forest as low as possible. Valuable partners were found in the nature conservation organisations for advice on environmental and nature conservation issues. The municipality organised the financing as the building owner. The planning of the facility completed the preparations before construction could begin.

Today, the nature and recreation park presents itself as a small jewel in the offer. It blends in very well with the surrounding natural values?? and complements the existing biotopes in the adjacent forest area. Walking trails around the lake and through the forest give visitors the opportunity to get very close to nature, discover rare plants and observe even rarer animals.

Park benches invite walkers and nature explorers to take their time and forget the hurry of everyday life. Dangle your feet in the water, walk briskly equipped with walking sticks, stretch out in the fresh grass, marvel at the passing clouds under old trees: the Bellwald Nature and Recreation Park offers all this and much more.

As part of the sports and leisure facilities, the park created by the municipality of Bellwald is the ideal complement to active sporting activities.
